Find the cost-recovery price

Enter what you paid and the expenses you expect to incur. Choose the marketplace or enter custom fee assumptions. An expected sale price is optional for the break-even result; enter one if you also want an outcome comparison.

Break-even is the lowest modeled item sale price covering entered costs after fees and any buyer-paid shipping. The result rounds upward to a cent so a displayed price does not fall below the modeled threshold. Marketplace-collected tax entered for eBay is held constant during the calculation.

Hypothetical recovery price

If item cost and supplies total $18 and the only seller fee is 10% of sale price, break-even is $20. A $20 sale recovers those costs but leaves no profit for your time, missing expenses or an unexpected return.

Do not confuse a floor with a market price

Buyers may not pay your break-even price. Compare completed sales and item condition separately. A floor above realistic demand can reveal a loss you need to manage; raising an asking price alone does not remove it.
