Check the proceeds of a potential eBay sale
Enter item cost and expected sale price, then shipping, packaging and any additional costs. The eBay preset models the common US non-Store category fee. It includes shipping collected from the buyer and any entered marketplace-collected sales tax in the fee base; tax itself is not seller revenue.
Category rates, Store subscriptions, promoted listings and account charges can differ. Editing the fee fields switches to Custom rather than silently applying eBay’s preset rules to an override.
Hypothetical sale
A $40 item with a $10 purchase cost, $5 seller shipping and $0.75 packaging leaves $18.41 using the preset with no collected tax entered. This excludes ads and other unentered charges. If $3 tax is collected, the fee increases and estimated profit falls to about $18.00.
Before using the estimate
Match your category and account terms to the official eBay fee schedule. Enter actual additional charges, and check sold comparables before assuming your asking price is achievable. This tool estimates proceeds; it does not value the item or publish a listing.
