Buyer-paid shipping still affects the fee

The US preset uses a 10% seller fee on item price plus buyer-paid shipping for listings using Mercari’s fee structure effective January 6, 2025. There is no separate processing fee in this preset. Check your listing’s applicable terms instead of assuming all older transactions used the same model.

Enter shipping received from the buyer and the label cost you pay separately. Shipping receipts are revenue in this calculation, but the label remains an expense; neither should disappear from the estimate.

Hypothetical shipped item

A $30 sale with $5 buyer-paid shipping has a $3.50 modeled fee. With $8 item cost, a $5 label and $0.50 packaging, estimated profit is $18.00. Excluding the buyer-paid shipping from the fee base would overstate that result.

Include other charges when applicable

Review Mercari’s official fee guidance. Add applicable transfer, return, shipping adjustment or other charges yourself. Compare the calculator with the actual transaction record after the sale.
