Compare profit with the cash committed

ROI divides estimated profit by item cost, seller shipping, packaging and other cash costs entered here. Seller fees are deducted from proceeds, rather than included in this investment denominator. Choose the marketplace or enter your actual fee assumptions before relying on the result.

The target starts in ROI mode. It is your planning threshold, not a statement that an item is worth buying. Two flips can have the same ROI but very different dollar profit and time requirements.

Hypothetical comparison

With $20 invested, a $40 sale and no additional fees, profit is $20: 100% ROI but 50% margin. If fees reduce profit to $16, ROI is 80% and margin is 40%. Neither percentage measures sale speed.

Zero investment

If all entered investment costs are zero, ROI is undefined. The tool shows no ROI percentage instead of an infinite return. You can still review dollar profit. Unsold items, labor time and opportunity cost are not automatically included in this estimate.
